Awenda Provincial Park

Awenda Provincial Park covers over 2,900 hectares of forested land on the shores of Georgian Bay. It is a popular destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts and offers recreational activities such as hiking, camping, swimming, boating, fishing, and cross-country skiing. There are 31 kilometres of trails in Awenda Provincial Park that can be accessed on foot, bicycle, or horseback, with trails ranging from easy strolls to challenging hikes. You can go for short 30-minute walks or go on a long 3.5-hour hike. The park has several natural beaches on Georgian Bay within driving distance of the campgrounds. The soft sand makes them ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and picnicking. A stretch of the beach has been designated as a pet beach, the only beach where pets are permitted. Awenda Provincial Park has over 300 campsites in 6 campgrounds (Bear, Deer, Hawk, Snake, Turtle, Wolf). Bear, Deer and Snake campgrounds are radio-free. Snake campround is also dog-free. Awenda is the perfect place to get away from the stresses of daily life and reconnect with nature. It is only 1 to 3 hours from the Greater Toronto Area depending on your location. The park is also a short drive to Penetanguishene and Midland if you need supplies.
